John GrolichThe Indiana State Coroners Association, in conjunction with the Indiana State Coroners Training Board, held their annual conference in Indianapolis November 12-14, 2020. ISCA President Phil Zahm, Huntington County Coroner, opened the conference. The conference was held at the Sheraton Hotel with over 250 coroners, deputy coroners and other law enforcement professionals from around the State of Indiana in attendance. The purpose of the conference is to meet the educational mission of both organizations through the provision of accredited training to field personnel.

During the conference, Nicholas “Nick” French, Clay County Coroner was awarded The Jeff Stout of Excellence Award for being an outstanding Indiana Coroner. Jarrett Hiatt, Marion County Deputy Coroner, was recognized as an outstanding deputy coroner for his hard work and dedication to an oftentimes thankless field .

The 2021 ISCA Officers were elected during the general business meeting as follows:
