Jack WelchJack Welch, 67, formerly of Plymouth passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2020. He was originally from Logan, West Virginia, and became a well known and loved member of the Arcadia community for over 20 years.

Along with being the Governor of the Arcadia Moose Lodge, Jack kept himself busy entertaining DeSoto County in many ways, but only if it involved a microphone. You could hear him host the morning show on the AM radio station 1480 WFLN, or test your knowledge at Beef O’Brady’s on Trivia night. He also hosted Karaoke at the Elks Lodge, Moose Lodge, and Beef’s, and offered his DJ services for many weddings. Jack was the play by play announcer for the Bulldogs Friday night football for many years. He was the morning DJ on WTCA AM 1050 for many years in the 90’s.

He was quick to smile and never met a stranger. He was also a proud veteran serving during one of the toughest times in history, the Vietnam War Era. “Once a Marine, always a Marine”. Jack had a lot of personality to say the least, and kept a smile on the faces of all that knew him. He was always up for an adventure and always said that he had lived a great life.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Lorena Welch; his mother Delores Weber; sons Jack Welch (Heidi) of Olathe, Kansas; daughters Stephanie Patterson (Eric) of Arcadia, FL, Taylor Welch of Port Charlotte, FL, Morgan Welch also of Port Charlotte and two step children.

A memorial service will be held to honor Jack Welch on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at 1:00PM at the Arcadia Moose Lodge.
