Deaton_Clemens_VanGilderFuneralHome2-2019 (1)Marie Virginia Wilhelm, 94, passed away on June 23, 2020 at 12:03a.m. at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center-Mishawaka, with family members at her side.
Marie was born the daughter of Edwin O. and Mabel L. (Hagenbush) Beam on October 28, 1925 in Argos, Indiana. She has been a lifelong resident of the area, with Plymouth being her hometown most of her life. On January 10, 1942. Marie married the love of her life, Charles D. Wilhelm. Charles preceded Marie in death on November 29, 2000. She was well known as the co-owner of Chuck and Marie’s Restaurant in Plymouth, Indiana; she also worked at Hehr International in Plymouth. She also worked on the family farm for many years. Marie was a member of the LaPaz Church of God.
Survivors include Marie’s daughter Rose Marie (Ed) Fritz of Plymouth, daughter-in-law Linda Wilhelm of Camdon, Tennessee, and Sister Betty M. Heflick of Yakima, Washington. Special friend and family member, Joan Eckstein of Plymouth, Indiana also survives. There are also 9 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren who survive. Preceding her in death are her parents, husband Charles, daughter Shirley Fleming, son Kenneth E. Wilhelm, grandson Danny Overholser, great-granddaughter Cailynn, sister Ethel Ludwig and brothers Lawrence and Thomas Beam.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 26,2020 from 5:00- 8:00 p.m. at the Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home (300 West Madison Street, Plymouth, Indiana 46563). The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home. The staff pastor for Deaton-Clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home, Pastor Kristin Harp, will be officiating at the funeral service. Burial will take place at the New Oak Hill Cemetery in Plymouth, Indiana (1300 Chester St, Plymouth, IN 46563).
