Corona Virus
The Marshall County Commissioners issued an emergency declaration in a special meeting on Friday morning in a move that was more for procedural purposes.
While testing is being conducted for COVID-19 cases in the county there have been no confirmed cases of the coronavirus. The emergency declaration is in “name only”.
With the declaration, Marshall County will be able to track expenses incurred due to the coronavirus. If the federal government still has money at the end of the crisis the county can be reimbursed for those expenses.
In addition, the declaration grants the county flexibility to act more rapidly in future emergencies during this time.
This emergency declaration does not hinder travel within the county.
The declaration went into effect this morning at 9 a.m.
