Multiple fire departments including Polk Township, Plymouth, North Liberty and LaPaz responded to a structure fire in Teegarden on Thursday afternoon.
When firefighters from Polk Township arrived on the scene, flames were already coming through the roof of the home. No one was at home at the time the fire started and fire crews were able to get two dogs out safely.
The home is located at 828 Center Street in Teegarden and the county GIS listed the deeded owner is Jeffery and Patty Schmaltz.
Fire crews were on the scene for several hours working to put out hotspots. No cause has been determined at this time.
