NIPSCO is aware of a recent uptick in customer reports of scammers calling homes and businesses posing as NIPSCO employees. While scams are on the rise, please be aware of ways to protect yourself.
Remember, NIPSCO will never call to demand payment through a prepaid debit card. If you receive a suspicious phone call, do not give personal or account information. NIPSCO recommends you hang up immediately. If you are unsure of the status of your account, you may check it by logging in at
MyAccount.NIPSCO.com or calling NIPSCO at 1-800-464-7726 to speak with a customer care representative.
In addition, if someone comes to your home claiming to be a NIPSCO representative and you are unsure:
- Ask for ID – NIPSCO employees and contractors wear their IDs visibly.
- Call NIPSCO – If you are not sure about a phone call, email, program, offer or person claiming to be affiliated with NIPSCO, please the Customer Care Center at 1-800-464-7726.
