Crash investigation_VehicularOn Monday, January 13, 2020, an Indiana State Police trooper responded to a single-vehicle crash on US 31 involving a pickup truck and trailer rolling over in a watery ditch.

A preliminary investigation conducted by Trooper Rodd Schuh indicated that, around 1:20 P.M., 54 year old, George Piper, of Plymouth was driving a maroon 1989 GMC northbound on US 31 near 11th Road. Piper was also towing a trailer that was loaded with a Ford Ranger.  Piper began to lose control of the GMC and ran off the road to the east side of US 31. The GMC rolled onto the driver’s side in a ditch that had approximately 2 ½ feet of water in it.

Piper was quickly pulled from the GMC by an Indiana State Police DES detective that was on scene moments after the crash. Piper was transported to a local hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Indiana State Police was assisted by Plymouth Fire and EMS and Lyons Towing.
