On Tuesday, May 12, the Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up board awarded $6,050 to three organizations.
The Marshall County Crossroads (MCC) Regional Planning Team, Inc. in partnership with United Way & Marshall County Community Foundation received funding to assist with their “Fund the Essentials” campaign. The United Way COVID-19 fund will help the most vulnerable populations in Marshall County receive critical financial and social service support during this global crisis, mobilizing the county’s support network to help keep families in their homes, food banks stocked and critical social services running.
David’s Courage received funding to assist in training and certifying a Life Coach who will work with residents at David’s Courage. David’s Courage is a Christ-centered transitional living home for drug and alcohol addiction. The mission of this organization is to have a lasting change of spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial health of those who are struggling with addiction so that each resident can become a productive, trustworthy, taxpaying citizen.
Dustin’s Place received funding to assist with their Office on the Go project that will allow the organization to offer community presentations to local organizations and businesses on Dustin’s Place as well as children’s grief. Dustin’s Place is a center for grieving children, teens, and adults. They provide peer grief support groups in a safe environment that allows for connection and healing through the sharing of similar grief experiences following the death of a loved one.
