City NEwsAs a point of information, Plymouth Clerk Treasurer Jeanine Xaver told the Common Council Monday evening that she was cancelling outstanding unpaid warrants from 2017.

The unpaid warrants are checks that were written by the city and never cashed.  The total amount was $727.59.  This money will be receipted back into the operating funds for the city.

Xaver said some of the checks are for utility deposits that the city has held for years.  She said they sent the checks out but they were returned.

Councilman Jeff Houin asked about the process and Xaver said if it’s a substantial dollar amount she attempts to find the customer but if they don’t leave a forwarding address it’s difficult to locate them.

There was no action needed by the city council.  The action taken by the clerk treasurer is from state statue
