Plymouth FIreDepartmentLogoPlymouth Fire Chief Rod Miller presented members of the Board of Public Works and Safety with the 2019 Departmental Activity Report Monday evening during the city meeting.

Firefighters responded to 7 chemical release calls last year, 12 combustible spills or leaks, 3 crop fires, 10 electrical wiring problems, 1 excessive heats call, 1 explosion with no fire, 5 good intent calls, 5 hazardous conditions, 15 vehicle fires, 10 grass fires, 8 rubbish fires, 7 calls that ended up being steam instead of smoke, 18 structure fires, 4 system malfunctions and 13 unintentional system operations.

There were a total of 2,203 alarm calls for the fire department last year.   The Plymouth Fire Department also responded to 1,782 EMS incidents, 77 medical assists, and they were dispatched and cancelled en route 161 times.

The Plymouth Fire Department staff and volunteers spent a total of 3,106 hours of training during 2019.
