DONALDSON – Led by five soccer players, Ancilla College garnered 18 awards from the NJCAA All-Academic teams.
The Chargers placed nine students on the second team (3.8-3.99 GPA) and nine on the third team (3.6-3.79). Several students just missed first-team designation, a perfect 4.0, by a single A- during their college career.
Sophomores Jorge Calix, a Plymouth high school grad, Jacks Guiton, and Aleksandar Rajkovic earned second-team honors for the men’s soccer team, with sophomore Erick Zelaya, also a PHS graduate, and freshman Marcos Hernandez were third-team honorees.
Men’s basketball had three selected with sophomores Weston Sage (2nd), Alexandros Priftis (3rd), and Ray Yagelski (3rd).
Also honored were men golfer’s sophomore Carl Martinez (2nd) and freshman Logan Templeton (3rd). A pair of freshmen, Sam Kahwaji (2nd) and Jace Sutherland (3rd) represented the baseball team.
Sophomore women’s basketball player Talia Bee (2nd) and women’s soccer player, sophomore Shania Walters (3rd), were also honored.
Other awards went to Katelyn Bickel (2nd), who played volleyball and softball, and freshman volleyball player Olivia Feltenberger (3rd). Two freshmen women bowlers were also selected, Kasey Sangster (2nd) and Mickayla Huff (3rd).
