Hutsell made it official that he has decided to continue his education and soccer career at Ancilla College. “I wanted to go someplace that was close to home,” he said. “And I wanted to be sure I’d get a chance to play.” “Nothing makes me happier than to see the type of young man that Nate has grown into,” said Plymouth soccer coach Grant Masson. “He developed leadership skills that made him one of our captains this year. I’m excited to have a chance to see him play between the pipes at Ancilla.” Two years ago, Nate earned Academic All-State Honors and All NLC Honorable Mention for his work in the classroom and on the field. Nate anchored the Rockie‚Äôs defense the last 2 years as their goalie and helped lead the Rockies to a Sectional Runner up performance this past season. Nate is the son of Chad and Emily Hutsell. “I think that I bring a lot of energy with the way I play,” he said. “I just want to have fun with any way I can contribute and have a good mental attitude.” “There are a lot of talented players in this region and Nate is one of those,” said Ancilla coach Farkhod Kurbonov. “I’m looking forward to getting the season going and seeing Nate in goal for us.” Ancilla College is a member of the Michigan Community College Athletic Association and part of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association). Hutsell joins multiple former Rockie soccer players in Sam Tanner, Mike Ebert, Erick Zelaya, and Jorge Calix next season. “I’m going to study behavioral science and I hope to get a job helping others, maybe counseling but we’ll have to see,” he said. Looking ahead to his next school after two years at Ancilla time will tell. “I haven’t really got anything in mind yet. I’d like to go to Butler but we’ll see what happens.”
