Theft - crimeOn Monday, October 12th at approximately 10:19 A.M., scanner traffic indicated that a robbery had taken place at the Dollar General in Argos. Marshall County Central Dispatch alerted local police agencies that a silver colored minivan with Michigan license plates fled the scene heading south on U.S. 31 with a male and female occupant.
As the suspects tried to leave the parking lot an employee tried to stop them by standing behind the vehicle. The employee was transported by ambulance to Woodlawn Hospital to be checked out but no injuries were report.
Argos Police Chief Corey Bowman stated the following day that it was his understanding the incident was not a robbery, saying, “It was just a simple theft.”
WTCA contacted an employee at Dollar General, but they were unwilling to provide any additional information about the incident.
It is unknown at this time if the subjects were apprehended, as several police agencies were searching for the vehicle involved.
