Rockies blank the field and head for Regional
SOUTH BEND – The Plymouth Rockies soccer team is moving on to the 3A Regionals after a masterful win over South Bend Riley 7-0.
The Rockies did not give up a single goal in all of the sectional games they played.
The Rockies move to 17-0-1 on the season and will face a tough test in the first round of Regionals at Goshen High School on Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. against a team that makes regular state appearances, Chesterton.
Plymouth got goals through Selvin Pagoada (two goals), one goal by Jose Rosas, a goal by Adrian Cardona, one by Ivan Turcios, one by #Ariel Matute, and one goal by Zach Truitt.
Both of Plymouth’s center backs scored in this game. Plymouth had a myriad of shots on goal.
A well coached and organized team, Riley forced the Rockies to reach deep in order to secure this victory. Plymouth, ranked #7 in 3A, will begin preparations to play #4 ranked in 3A, Chesterton.
The winner will meet the winner of the Elkhart versus Munster matchup at 7 p.m. for the regional championship.
