The Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department released information on the twelve-year-old boy from K-County that was reported missing Thursday afternoon through a Silver Alert.
Ayden Elijah Adee was found dead about 12:15 today.
This morning emergency personnel in Kosciusko County returned to the area of Ayden Adee’s residence to resume the search that was initiated Thursday. A thorough search grid was established and teams were assigned to designated areas. At approximately 12:15 PM, the deceased body of Ayden was discovered in a heavily wooded area near the intersection of CR 350 E and CR 500 S.
Police have not said how the boy died, but they did acknowledge Thursday that he may have a .40 caliber handgun. There is no indication that foul play was involved.
The Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office was dispatched to the scene and will investigate for the cause and manner of death.
Assisting in the investigation and search were representatives from fire departments throughout the county, Lutheran EMS, Nappanee Police Department and Indiana Conservation Officers.
Ayden Adee was a student at Whitko Community Schools.
