Veterans Day 2020 logoOn Wednesday, November 11, the American Legion, VFW and DAV will again host a Veteran’s Day ceremony on the Marshall County Courthouse lawn. The program is scheduled to start at 11:00 am.   This year, Assistant Police Chief Mark Owen will be the keynote speaker.  Mark served with the United States Air Force from November 1988 until November 1992.  He earned the rank of an E-4 Senior Airman as he served as a Security Police Specialist.  Mark served in Texas, Louisiana, and Kunsan Korea.  While serving, he was awarded the Air Force Good Conduct medal, the Air Force Achievement Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  Mark has been a Plymouth Police Officer for 26 years.  He and his wife, Melissa, have been married for 24 years and they have two children, Travis and Kelsey.

Pastor Tom Anders from the Plymouth Church of the Brethren will lead the event with prayer and Mayor Mark Senter will be honoring our men and women who have bravely served.

The entire community is invited to attend to honor our Veterans. Bring the family to this special commemorative ceremony celebrating veterans’ service to our country. During the ceremony, Center Street east of the Courthouse and Jefferson Street south of the Courthouse will be closed.  Please be courteous of other attendees by wearing a mask and maintaining social distancing guidelines.
