winter-weather-advisoryThe National Weather Service is predicting additional snow amounts between 2-5 inches for today. The heaviest snow will be from mid-morning through this afternoon.

North winds will increase to between 15-25 mph which will result in blowing/drifting snow.

An “Advisory” level travel advisory is currently in place in Marshall County.  The “Advisory” level is the lowest level of the three tier system and simply means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.

Hazardous driving conditions caused by snow covered roads, reduced visibility and drifting across roads will likely lead to an increase in the number of slide-offs and traffic accidents.

Drivers should slow down and allow themselves extra time reach their destinations.  Increase your following distance to give yourself plenty of room to take evasive actions if needed.  Be mindful of the potential for poor visibility and for large snow drifts across roads.
