arrested_handcuffsOn Thursday, October 22nd at approximately 8:14 P.M. Deputy Bennett with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop in the 100 block of US 31 and Veterans Parkway.
The driver of the vehicle identified as 29 year old, Keya Hoffer of Mishawaka was found to be driving on a suspended license and had an active civil warrant through Marshall County.
The male passenger identified as 22 year old, Johnathan Pempleton of Elkhart was found to be Carrying a Handgun without a License.
Both individuals were taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where Hoffer was held on a $155 bond with Pempleton being held on a $505 bond.

 

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
