“More than 850 million people visit museums across the United States each year,” said Lt. Gov. Suzanne Crouch. “Museums tell our stories, preserve our heritage and explore the future.”
The New York Times called it one of the “Ten Coolest Museums in the World,” and Hoosiers said it was their top choice in the Best of Indiana poll. At The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, you can explore five floors of fun and excitement. From the Dinosphere to Beyond Spaceship Earth and the Riley Children’s Health Sports Legends Experience.
Named after Hoosier astronaut Gus Grissom, the Grissom Air Museum in Peru also topped the Best of Indiana list. You can get an up-close look at aircraft from World War II to the present day, jump into a cockpit and climb inside a security tower.
“Museums enrich our lives, providing learning and support as well as a variety of services to our communities,” said Misty Weisensteiner, Director of Visit Indiana. “We have so many excellent museums in our state, and I urge you to make memories at one of our great museums.”
