The Marshall County Commissioners approved several requests during their meeting Monday.
Marshall County Treasurer Angie Birchmeier presented a contract with L & D Mail Masters from New Albany for printing and mailing the tax bills for 2021. She told the commissioners they did a very good job last year and the cost was less than anticipated. The contact approved by the commissioners was for $9,584.55. She did note that postage to mail the tax bills is an additional $10,000.
Marshall County Coroner John Grolich was granted a pre-pay for a post office box. Grolich said the post office requires a pre-payment for the box of $134.00 and the commissioners approved the pre-payment request.
Vicki Brown from Dustin’s Place appeared before the commissioners with a request to use a couple of county roadway for a fundraising 5K run on April 17th. She told the commissioners the roads will not be closed during the event. A couple reserve deputies will assist with traffic control. The commissioners approved her request.
Commissioner Mike Burroughs asked the commissioners to approve a pre-pay for SuiteOne for training for the live streaming of county meetings. The cost approved was $1,495 and training will take place on February 23rd and 24th. This should allow for county meetings to be streamed starting March 1st.
The commissioners also appointed Melanie Dean to a 4 year term on the Argos Plan Commission.
