During their meeting on Tuesday, the Marshall County Commissioners extended the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration for another week.
While the commissioners are hoping state legislators will amend the Indiana Code that requires the emergency declaration to be enacted every 7 days to a longer time period, they took official action to extend the declaration for 7 more days.
Enacting the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration directs all public offices and employees of Marshall County to exercise the utmost diligence in the discharge of duties for the duration of the emergency. County residents are also directed to comply with necessary emergency measures, to cooperate with public officials and disaster service forces in executing emergency operation plans and to obey and comply with the lawful direction of officers.
This order will be in effect until 9 a.m. on January 26th. This is the 14th consecutive week Marshall County has been under the Public Health Disaster Emergency Declaration due to COVID-19.
