Bikes for Kids 2021The Bikes For Kids giveaway at Centennial Park last weekend was a huge success.

The non-profit gave away over 240 bikes to deserving kids from in and around Marshall County.  Blissville Church of the Brethren joined the event and fed 650 people a hot lunch and their members helped Bikes For Kids wash and load the bikes into a semi provided by Continental Express.  Integrity Academy of Martial Arts students unloaded and delivered the bikes and hot lunches to the kids and their families and St. Joseph Health System provided 200 helmets for the kids while LifePlex/Fitness Forum raised over $2,700 for Bikes For Kids at their recent fundraiser.

Mark Sage, President of the local Bikes For Kids organization said, “There were so many donors and volunteers that came through for us but we unfortunately don’t have the space to list them all. Thanks to everyone that made this give away a success, and we plan to give away 300 plus bikes next year at our annual event on Easter Weekend, 2022.”

Stage closed his comments saying, “We are looking for corporate and individual donors to help us with next year’s event and we would be pleased to tell our story to any local civic or corporate group.”
