WARSAW — Plymouth’s boys swimmers finished their season on Saturday at Warsaw scoring 134 points with just seven boys competing. The score was good enough to secure a 6th place finish overall matching last year’s finish.
Plymouth had the most representation in the 100 back with all 3 swimmers swimming best times and qualifying for Saturday. Max Marohn’s best time of the meet was 1:16.94 and he finished in 16th place. Sean Janda had the biggest time drop, finishing with his fastest time at the meet being 1:13.36 for 15th place. Fitz Holm claimed the highest Plymouth finish in the backstroke by swimming a 59.00 on Thursday and a 57.52 on Saturday to claim 3rd place overall.
Fitz Holm swam a best time of 2:00.55 the preliminary rounds of the 200 free on Thursday to qualify for the Championship finals in the 8th spot. In the finals he dropped significant time, and broke two minutes for the first time, moving up a position to finish 7th overall with a 1:57.65.
Joe Cartwright took a risk and entered into the 200IM after swimming it only one time in a regular-season meet and ended up qualifying for the consolation finals with his fastest time 2:39.35.
In the 100 breaststroke, Cartwright swam best times on Thursday and Saturday in his first appearance in a swimming Sectionals competition. Thursday he qualified for the finals with a 1:08.05. On Saturday he dropped even more time ending his career with a 1:07.75 for a 5th place finish overall.
Sean Janda competed in the 11 dive event Saturday morning and earned a ribbon with an 8th place finish. He finished with a final score of 301.30.
In the 100 free Ashton Artrip swam a best time of 58.96 on Thursday and clinched a qualifying spot for Saturday’s Championships. On Saturday he dropped additional time ending the season with 58.78.
On Thursday the 200 free relay team of Sean Janda, David Schadek, Max Marohn, and Justin Houin combined to swim a best time at 2:04.15 and qualified for Finals. On Saturday they dropped 5 seconds and finished 8th with a time of 1:59.45
The team 400 free relay team of Sean Janda, Ashton Artrip, Fitz Holm, and Joe Cartwright swam well enough to qualify for the finals on Thursday and they dropped nearly 10 seconds off their season-best time in the finals on Saturday. They finished with a 3:56.42 and a 7th place finish.
