Plymouth Community SchoolsThe Plymouth School Board convened at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 5th. The meeting lasted 30 minutes.

The board welcomed Kurt Christiansen as a new board member. Both Christiansen and Allie Shook were administered the oath of office. Shook had been appointed to the board in the past to replace Larry Holloway. Interviews for those applying for the seat left open by the resignation of Todd Samuelson will be held on January 13th. If all of those applying can’t be heard on January 13th, a second interview night will be January 14th. The board is expected to name the chosen candidate on January 20th.

Melissa Christiansen was named board president; Allie Shook was named vice-president; and Larry Pinkerton will serve as secretary. Following the regular meeting, the board met for a Board of Finance meeting for ten minutes.

Melissa Christiansen was named unanimously to the lead the board as president and Allie Shook was named secretary. Business Manager Kandi Tinkey reported that interest in the corporation’s investments was down due to COVID-19.

She said, “We didn’t get as much as anticipated.” Tinkey said the total interest for 2020 was $83,965.75.
