On Tuesday evening, February 2, Theresa Budd and her husband stopped by a Family Express in Plymouth to prepare for their drive to Indianapolis the following morning. While she was there, she purchased a $5 Jeweled 7s Scratch-off ticket. While driving home, Theresa began scratching her ticket and couldn’t believe what she was seeing. “What is it? Did we win $5?” her husband jokingly asked. “This can’t be right,” Theresa said under her breath. She responded to him, “This is saying we won $77,000 [$77,777].”
The second they got home, Theresa and her husband kept looking at the ticket in disbelief. They still could not believe what they were seeing so they sent a photo of the ticket to their kids to check it on the Hoosier Lottery app. They quickly responded with a screenshot sharing a “Congratulations!” message on the screen.
“It’s really funny. When we play Scratch-offs, we are so used to only winning $5. This is quite the surprise!” Theresa said reflecting on her win. She and her husband are very excited to be able to plan their dream vacation to Hawaii!
