County Sheriff shares statistics from the Marshall County Drug task Force with Commissioners.

During Monday’s commissioner meeting Sheriff Matt Hassel presented the commissioner with a report detailing the annual activities from his department.

Last year, 2020 the Drug Task Force (DTF) conducted over 160 controlled buys and covert operations and spent nearly $34,000 on them.  Some of the operations took down our area’s largest marijuana, cocaine and methamphetamine dealers.

The Drug task Force was also instrumental in the capture of a subject wanted for murder, a child molester who had been on the run for years and a subject who had fled from several agencies and stole vehicles within our county.

The Drug Task Force has their largest amount of money seizures as well in 2020, over $60,000 along with 9 vehicles and 1 motorcycle.

The sheriff’s report says the DTF coordinated the county’s largest warrant sweep operation.

The Drug Task Force’s success would not be possible without the support of police agencies in Marshall County.
