State meet begins
INDIANAPOLIS — The IHSAA state wrestling meet began Friday night with opening round matches at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.
Culver Academy’s Eli Pack (19-0), ranked No. 1 in the state, defeated Ryan Bovard (24-6, jr.) of East Central by technical fall in the opening round of the 195-lb weight class. Pack will now face No. 15 Wyatt Willman (31-1, jr.) of North Posey, who pinned No. 8 Matt Lepper (23-4, sr.) from FW Carroll.
Plymouth’s Bradey Pittman (22-9) lost to sixth-ranked Tyler Jones (26-6, jr.) of Warren Central, 9-5, in the 160-lb weight class.
