On Sunday, March 21st at 3:56 P.M. Officer Krynock with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop in the area of Jackson Street and Michigan Street on a vehicle for a traffic infraction.
During the course of the traffic stop it was found that the driver identified as 32 year old Ashley D. Carey of North Liberty had an active warrant out of Marshall County for failure to appear on a misdemeanor charge.
Carey was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where she was held on no bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
