Eagles to Host 2nd Chance Prom for Riley Hospital

February 20, 2012

02/21/12 The Ladies Auxiliary of the Plymouth Eagles Lodge 1900 continues to find creative ways to raise funds for this year’s Indiana state Eagles project. According to Auxiliary Vice-President Hollie Wenzel, the Second Chance Prom event being held next Saturday night came about as several members began brainstorming ideas.

The local Eagles Club is holding a “Second Chance Prom” for those who missed their high school proms or just want to relive the fun of a prom. All oft the proceeds from the event will be added to funds from other fundraisers to help get to their local goal of $3,000. Their contribution, along with funds from all over the state, will be given to Riley’s Hospital for Children towards a purchase of a pediatric ambulance. Wenzel said the ambulance will be equipped with special equipment including those needed for surgery mid-transport. All in all, the Eagles Clubs have pledged $250,000 towards the project.

Wenzel said, “We’re all about helping people.”

Although ticket sales the prom event has been going very strong, Wenzel would like to invite the entire community to join in the fun. Tickets are $15 per person or $25 per couple. Tickets can be purchased at the door the night of the event or at the Little Store in Plymouth.

The decorating committee is using the theme of “Frost Yourself with Diamonds” and plans to turn the upstairs room at the Eagles into a winter wonderland.

Proving music for the night will be volunteer D J s Brandon VanVactor and Brandon Kuskye. Also donating all of his services will be photographer Russ Perdieu of Vintage Ford Photos.

During the evening a King and Queen of the prom will be crowned. They will be chosen by popular vote, according to Wenzel.
