4-H Fair Queen and King

07/13/11 During the opening ceremonies of the Marshall County 4-H Fair Sunday evening an old tradition was brought back, the King and Queen Contest.

Seven young women; Jaclyn Bauer of Union Township, Courtney and Ryley Cripps and Crystal Overmyer of Bourbon Township, Ashley Davenport from North Township, Courtney Harris and Trisha Neidlinger from Center Township  and three young men; James Eyrich and Blake Lemler from Bourbon Township and Matthew Hopkins from West Township were seeking the high honors.

Each candidate had to prepare a two page resume, give a speech titled “What 4-H Means to Me” and go through an interview.

Jaclyn Bauer, the daughter of Ted and Amy Bauer of Union Township was selected queen.  Jaclyn is a 10 year member of 4-H and a member of the Senior Livewires 4-H Club.

10-year 4-H member Blake Lemler from Bourbon Township was selected king.  He is the son of Tim and Melinda Lemler and a member of the Triton Junior/Senior High 4-H Club.

First runner-ups were Matthew Hopkins and Trisha Neidlinger and second runner-ups were Courtney Harris and James Eyrich.
