Sunday evening about 5:30 the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department was notified of a single vehicle accident in the 17,000 block of 6th Road.
Officer Les McFarland from the Sheriff’s Department responded and located a 2001 Chevy Impala that had gone off the roadway and struck a tree. The vehicle was nearly cut in two and the impact had caused the engine to totally separate from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, 17 year old Derek M. Hahn of Plymouth had to be extricated from the vehicle and was airlifted by MedFlight to Memorial Hospital. He is currently listed in critical condition.
No cause for the crash has been released and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate this accident.
