PHS Twirler Wins Titles in Advanced Junior Events

On Saturday, May 10th over 60 twirlers came to Lincoln Jr. High in Plymouth for the 2014 Indiana Baton Twirling Championships.  Twirlers are separated into beginner, intermediate and advanced and also by age groups.   Local PHS freshman, Alicia Dennie had a wonderful day.  She won titles in all the Advanced Junior ( ages 13-16) events, including, solo, two baton, three baton, strut and dance twirl.  She also won the grand champion title in three baton.

Alli is also part of the twirl team Staredown, which includes twirlers from Michigan, Ft. Wayne, Lafayette and Lebanon.  The team won the advanced dance twirl state title as well, twirling to Cher’s song “A Woman’s World”.  Alli will travel to Ohio in June for the Mid East Regional competition and then in July she will travel to California for USTA Nationals.  Alli is coached by Kyle Keiser of Kalamazoo, Michigan and is a member of Daphne’s Dolls.
