Applications being accepted for Regional Dispatcher Position

  04/18/13 The Indiana State Police is accepting applications for a civilian Regional Dispatcher. The Regional Dispatch Center for this opening is located at the Toll Road Post in Bristol. Interested candidates must have their application submitted online before Saturday, April 20. Applications are not being accepted at the post or in person.

To qualify, applicants must be high school graduates or possess the equivalent GED and be able to successfully pass written and typing tests (30 words per minute) prior to interviewing. They must also obtain two certifications with the first six months.

Applicants must be able to successfully pass a background investigation, and are asked to submit a full work history, copies of high school transcript or GED certificate, and college transcripts, technical certificates and a DD214 (if applicable).

Those interested should be able to:
•Work on several tasks simultaneously in a busy and noisy environment
•Remain seated for long periods of time
•Remain calm during emergency situations
•Work rotating or multiple shifts, requiring weekends and/or holidays
