AT&T EXPANDS MOBILE INTERNET NETWORK TO COUNTY COMMUNITIES

October 17, 2012

10/18/12 AT&T Wednesday announced the expansion of its mobile Internet network in several Marshall, St. Joseph, Elkhart and Kosciusko County communities, extending access for advanced mobile services, devices and feature-rich audio and video content to customers in the area. With mobile Internet speeds, AT&T customers can surf the Web, download files faster, and enjoy the very latest interactive mobile applications. Communities included in the expansion are Plymouth, Nappanee, Culver, Bremen, Argos, Bourbon, Etna Green, La Paz, Leesburg, Mentone, Milford,  Wakarusa and Wyatt; along with the Lake Maxinkuckee area.

“Access to faster wireless networks not only improves the quality of life in northern Indiana, but it also opens up new possibilities for businesses and consumers,” said State Senator Ryan Mishler.  “Enabling businesses to stay connected with their customers and suppliers around the world is critical to companies looking to grow and expand in a global economy.”

AT&T also added new layers of frequency, also known as “carriers,” to 28 cell sites throughout Marshall, St. Joseph, Elkhart and Kosciusko counties to more efficiently manage available spectrum and increase mobile Internet capacity. The expansion helps manage ever-growing demand for mobile Internet services by allocating more network resources for AT&T’s mobile Internet network.

“We continue to invest in the communities we serve,” said AT&T Indiana President George S. Fleetwood. “Our goal is to connect Hoosiers with their world everywhere they live and work. This investment is another step in that direction and we look forward to more good news in the coming months.”
