06/04/12 Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating an ATV accident at the address of 2485 18th Road near Tippecanoe Indiana. According to Indiana Conservation Officer Cpl. Ken Dowdle an ATV driven by a Clint R Beldon 40 years old of Tippecanoe rolled over causing Beldon to be thrown from the machine and become injured. This occurred at the 18th Road address at approximately 10:00 pm on Saturday, June 2nd.
Cpl. Dowdle said that speed and alcohol were contributing factors in the crash. According to a witness Beldon rolled the machine over and that caused him to suffer head trauma and several abrasions and lacerations to his body. Beldon was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend.
Units on the scene were Bourbon Ems and fire, Tippecanoe Ems and Fire as well as Bourbon police and Indiana Conservation Officers.
Indiana Conservation Officers remind the public to always wear a helmet and to not drink and operate off road vehicles.
