Bremen Man Arrested after Leaving Scene of Accident

This past Saturday at approximately 8 p.m. the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call in reference to an automobile accident in the area of 3B and Beech Roads. 

Bremen Police, Tri-County EMS and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department responded to the scene.  They found a Chevy pickup truck that had gone off the roadway hitting a REMC pole causing damage to the pole and vehicle.  Officer Les McFarland believed alcohol was believed to be contributing circumstances to the accident. 

Witnesses explained to Officer McFarland that two young male subjects left the scene running.  Later on a juvenile was located and transported to the hospital for treatment. 

On Sunday Officer McFarland located the driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Gary Kuhns of 5th Road in Bremen.  Kuhns was arrested for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident and illegal possession of alcohol by a minor.  He was booked into the Marshall County Jail at 9:30 a.m. Sunday on a $750 cash bond.   His bond was posted and released at 3:45 p.m. Sunday.
