Bids Opened for South Gateway Project

 03/14/12 The Indiana Department of Transportation opened bids for the South Gateway Project last week. Seven companies from the northern part of the state bid on the project which engineers estimate would cost $795,000.

   The South Gateway Project includes the demolition of the Cook/Dimmit building and new, extensive retaining wall, a news portion of the Greenway Trail from the east edge of the Cook/Dimmit property to the west near the Michigan Street Bridge and then a new compliant wider trail southwardly to East Lake  Avenue.

    Bidders on the project include:

*High bidder, Reith Riley Construction from Goshen  –  $881,553.20

Pioneer Associates Inc. from Albion  –  $766,487.89

Larson Danielson Construction from LaPorte  –  $738,728.09

Northern Indiana Construction from Mishawaka  –  $771.937.04

LaPorte Construction Company Inc.  from LaPorte  –  $691.828.88

Phend & Brown Inc. from Milford  –  $686,454.01

*Low bidder, JCI Bridge Group Inc. from LaPorte  –  $662,694.92

  Members of the Plymouth Redevelopment Commission will review the bids during their meeting on Tuesday, March 20th.  After review and confirmation that bids were submitted according to specifications the Redevelopment Commission will work to secure an agreement with the low bidder.
