Shop With A Cop Raising Money for Holiday Program

October 31, 2011

11/01/11 Plymouth F.O.P. Lodge195’s annual Shop With A Cop fundraising efforts are in full swing.  The program hopes to take over 300 children shopping in December.

Shop With A Cop recently received a couple of donations from car clubs. Duane Bender, President of the Hoosier Old Wheels Car Club presented Hurshel Hunter, President of the FOP with a check that will help take more children shopping at Christmas.

Steve Harper and Bill Andrews, members of the Black Top Cruisers Car Club from Rochester also presented FOP 195 with a check for the children of Marshall County.

This program has been in place for more than 10 years.  Donations given go directly to assist needy children at the holiday with coats, boots, and hats, warm clothing, and a toy or two.  Many times the children take some of their money to purchase a gift for a parent.

Nearly 100 jugs have been places around the county to collect change and window ornaments are being sold for a donation of at least a dollar at dozens and dozens of businesses.
