body_identified_ breaking newsMarshall County Coroner, Bill Cleavenger and Detective Leo Mangus with the Plymouth Police Department confirmed the identity of the body of a man found in the Yellow River at the end of Lyn Street on Thursday. The body was located by kids floating the river late Thursday afternoon.
Late Monday evening the Indiana State Police and Resource Officers with the Department of Natural Resources said forensic evidence obtained at the autopsy last Friday confirmed the body was that of 61 year old John G. Miller of Plymouth. Miller had been reported missing earlier last week.
Cleavenger said, “The manner and cause of death is still under investigation and those findings may be some weeks away.”
Notification was made to Miller’s family early Tuesday morning by Cleavenger and Mangus.
The coroner extends his appreciation to all local law enforcement and fire personnel, DNR and ISP for helping to bring closure to the family so quickly. He said, “It was a great team effort by everyone in a very short period of time in helping bring closure to the Miller family.”
