Books for Babies

July 3, 2013

07/05/13 The Marshall County Reading Council’s Books for Babies chairperson Natasha Blackford and her husband Tyson welcome their new son Bentyn Tyson with new books last week at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center.  The Books for Babies project presents each newborn in Marshall County hospitals with 2 books in a colorful book-bag along with a pamphlet prepared by the Reading Council on the importance of reading to babies. In May, Blackford’s Argos Elementary third grade class stuffed the book-bags with books donated by community members, Reading Council members and school children.  The book-bags were stitched by sewing clubs in Indiana, Florida and Michigan.

The Reading Council appreciates all the support they receive for the Books for Babies project.  For more information contact Blackford at nblackford@argos.k12.in.us
