June 18, 2010

6-18-10

The friendly spirit of small town is certainly alive in Bourbon. After learning of the need for funding for the traditional fireworks for the town, Kathryn Chapman and others decided to hold a fundraiser.

The Bourbon Gospel Jam will be on June 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the Gazebo uptown.

Donations will be accepted along with a small charge for food items.

However, the music is free. The entertainment lineup includes The King’s Way Gospel Singers, Ken Stuzman-Shipshewana Jam, Mike Thompson, Nappanee Jams, Lois Lock, Wakarusa Jams, and others are welcome to join in.

Chapman hopes that everyone will grab a lawn chair and meet neighbors and friends for the evening. In the case of rain, the program will be moved to the Park Pavilion located two blocks north of the stoplight on

 E Sunset Street.

For more information, contact Chapman at 342-0389 or 360-8906.

A second fundraiser will be on July 3 at the Matchett Center featuring a haystack and chili supper.
