Police Pursuit Ends with Crash

05/06/11  A local man led Plymouth Police on a high speed chase into Starke County before hitting a tree.

On Wednesday, May 4th at 8:03 p.m. Plymouth Police Officer Jason Dobbins attempted to conduct a traffic stop on Lincoln Highway on 36 year old Brandon L. Riester of Sunset Drive for a non working rear tail light on his pickup truck when he failed to stop resulting in a vehicle pursuit.  The pursuit went through several different county roads and ended when the subject jumped a set of railroad tracks on 1150 East in Starke County and crashed into a tree.

Mr. Riester failed to comply with verbal commands from Officer Dobbins and fled from the crash on foot which led to him being tazed.

He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail and charged with resisting law enforcement, reckless driving at a high rate of speed and driving while suspended with a prior charge.  His bond was set at $1,000.
