March 10, 2015

PHS_BridgeBust2015_1On Friday March 6th, seven students from Plymouth High School attended the Annual Purdue University ASCE Bridge Bust Competition.  The students have spent the last two months designing and building their bridge with balsa wood and glue.

PHS_BridgeBust2015_2Zacc Hutchings and Melanie Cooper’s bridge took top honors placing 1st in structural efficiency.  Their bridge beat over 100 bridges from 14 other schools in Indiana.  This is the third year for Zacc and Melanie, all three years they have placed either 1st or 2nd in structural efficiency, proving that they know how to build a structurally sound bridge!
