Brown Bag Lunch Features History of Education in Marshall County

Education, in the early years, was not popular to many citizens in the county.   Some even called it a “waste of time, money and intellect!”   Don Balka, author, former educator and Marshall County Historical Society Board member, will explore the “History of Education in Marshall County” during a Brown Bag Lunch Event on Friday, July 10 from 12-1 in the Community Room at the Marshall County Museum.

Brown-bag-lunch_Don BalkaDuring his presentation, he will explore everything from the location of Marshall County schools and who was in charge of education, to a light-hearted look at how much teachers were paid and how tests have changed!  Bring a sack lunch and a friend to the Museum and be “schooled” by a Marshall County educator and historian on the dramatic changes that have occurred over the years in education.
