Marshall County DCS to Participate in Statewide Candlelight Vigils for Child Abuse

  04/05/13  The Indiana Department of Child Services will hold a statewide candlelight vigils to raise awareness for Child Abuse  on Tuesday, April 16th and the Marshall County office will be participating.  The purpose of this statewide vigil is to involve local leaders and officials, to recognize those affected by child abuse and enhance positive local news for the Department of Children Services.

The Marshall County vigil will be held at 2125 North Oak Road in Plymouth, the location of the local County DCS office.  The event kicks off at 7 P.M. in the parking lot located between Wings Etc. and Jimmy Johns.  The ceremony will start with a short introduction by the Marshall County CASA(Court Appointed Special Advocates)director Haley Kittrell and Michael Carroll, Director of the local DCS office before the candle lighting and a moment of silence led by Trinity United Methodist Church Pastor Mark Need.

This is an opportunity to raise public awareness of child abuse and neglect and a chance for the community to come together for a common reason, the safety and welfare of our innocent children.
