Carnigie Arrested on Multiple Charges

  02/18/14  On Friday, February 14th Marshall County Sheriff’s Deputy Jonathan Bryant conducted a traffic stop in the area of Michigan and 5A Roads.   The driver, 31 year old Victor S. Carnegie Jr. of Plymouth was known to the officer and known not to hold a valid driver’s license.  During the investigation Mr. Carnegie was found to be in possession of Synthetic Marijuana and Marijuana.  He was taken into custody for Driving While Suspended, a Felony Possession Charge of Marijuana over 30 grams with a prior charge and Possession of a Synthetic Drug. Carnegie was transported and lodged in the Marshall County Jail.  He was held on a $3,000 cash bond for currently being out on Parole.  He was released later that night at 7:55 P.M. after posting bond and received a Superior Court II date of March 11th to appear for his initial hearing.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
