WTCA News Correspondent Honored with IN Forensic Assoc. Award

Carol AndersWTCA AM 1050 & FM 106.1 Radio and Pilot News correspondent, Carol Anders, received a Publicity Award from the Indiana High School Forensic Association during a ceremony at their annual state meeting on September 11. The Publicity Award is given to members of the media who have consistently promoted the work of high school speech and debate teams in their broadcasting or circulation area.

Presenting the appreciation plague to Anders was Plymouth High School Head Speech Coach, David McKenzie. McKenzie said she was nominated for the honor for her dedication to the PHS team not only while she lived in Plymouth, but continued to write supportive articles even after she moved to Ft. Wayne.

In addition to writing for the media as a staff writer and later as a correspondent, Anders was a speech and debate coach for PHS for 14 years. For the past three years, she has served as an assistant speech coach for Canterbury High School in Ft. Wayne.
