Trash Schedule Changed for Holiday

September 2, 2010

Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt has announced a change in next week’s trash and recycling collection by the city’s trash hauler.

The Labor Day Holiday will move the Plymouth trash pick-up scheduled back one day for everyone the whole week.

Allied Waste will be closed on Monday, September 6th and will begin picking up trash and recycling in Plymouth on Wednesday, September 8th.  City customers are reminded to place their trash and recycling at the curb for pick-up prior to 6 a.m.  Additional reminders include; trash tote lids be closed because any items overflowing the tote may fall off.  Totes that are over filled will cause the driver to not collect trash from the tote on that given day.  Any items place outside of the regular trash tote will not be picked-up without a pick-up appointment to be set up by the trash hauler. The recycling truck will take boxes if they are broken down and put with the recycling bin.

The City Street Department continues to collect yard waste on Mondays and Fridays.  Yard waste containers that are too heavy cause too many injuries to city employees.  Customers are encouraged to use multiple cans for yard waste.

The fall leaf season will soon be upon us.  Superintendent Marquardt anticipated the fall leaf pick-up to begin before the end of September.  Additional information on this will be released as the date gets closer.

Anyone with questions on any of these it4ms should contact the Plymouth Street Department. (936-2017)
