Charlie Adams Speaks at Prayer Breakfast

May 6, 2011

05/06/11  Over 170 people started the day together at Christo’s Banquet Center for the Mayor’s Annual Prayer Breakfast.

Thursday morning was started with a welcome by Plymouth Mayor Mark Senter. Boy Scout Troops 251 and 257 presented the colors and led the Pledge of Allegiance and  Mrs. Linda Starr led the group in singing the National Anthem.  The invocation was given by Pastor Larry Marhanka from the First United Methodist Church.  Mrs. Joy Ritenour inspired the group by singing “Be Still and Know He Is God”.

After a wonderful breakfast, everyone joined in singing “Let There Be Peace on Earth”.  The keynote speaker for the event was Charlie Adams, former TV personality.   He spoke about the importance of faith and prayer in your daily lives.  He talked about 3 important points: Where have you been?,  Where are you going?, and your faith.

The morning was concluded with a benediction by Pastor Justin Chambers from the New Song Community Church.

Jan and Ken Houin from Operation Quiet Comfort were also in attendance so everyone had the opportunity to sign a denim square or write a note to send to our men and women in the military.

Members of the Mayor’s Youth Council were also on hand and each of them introduced themselves.
