Plymouth Father Arrested for Child Neglect

August 10, 2011

08/10/11 This week a Plymouth man was charged with child neglect.

On Monday, August 8th about 4:30 in the afternoon the Plymouth Police Department received a 9-1-1 call in reference to a 4 ½ year old child that was located at the Armory on West Madison Street only wearing a diaper and t shirt, with no shoes.

When Officer Gilmer arrived on the scene, the concerned citizen stated that the child had been in her care for approximately twenty minutes before she called 9-1-1.

The father of the child, James E. Mason 32, of Plymouth was located about 35 minutes later at his home in the 1200 block of Harrison Street sleeping.    Mr. Mason was unaware that the child was out of the home.  He was then taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail where he was booked in for Neglect of a Dependent Life or Health.  A cash bond has been set for $1,000.00 for James Mason and he is scheduled to appear in Marshall County Superior Court #1 on September 6th.
